Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

News From Devon-Aire:

Devon-Aire is excited to be launching a line of upper end products called the Signature. Many of you have already seen our woven breech this past fall:

The Signature woven breech is the foundation of the line and we will be expanding the line with other woven breeches already in the works, new helmets, such as the Spectrum and Prism, a new high end full grain leather field boot and a water repellent show coat. These are all in the works and we will be introducing them over the coming season!
The Signature woven breech has been such a huge hit, we have already increased our initial order, since we are almost sold out!

Devon-Aire’s New Signature Woven Show Shirt with Moisture Wick Finish

This coming Spring Devon-Aire will introduce a new step up woven show shirt that we will tag as the “SIGNATURE EQUI-DRY” show shirt.
We have been working on this shirt for over a year developing the fabric in a lovely high thread count cotton rich tone on tone with a Cool-Max style finish that we term “EQUI-DRY”.
Like the wrap collar shirts that are already a big hit, we will offer the finer details on this shirt like the western yoke back, front placket button cover flap, heavy duty metal snaps with reinforced stitching. Lovely unique paisley style collar and cuff trim fabric.

We are even changing the hang tag and woven collar label to a unique “SIGNATURE” style.

These shirts will be available in ladies and kids in both long sleeve and short sleeve. Sizes for ladies are 28-44 and kids will be 4-18.
Style info is:

5300-Ladies L/S- $24.95    5301- Ladies S/S- $22.50   5400-Kids L/s-$22.50   5401-Kids S/S-$19.95.

These shirts have already been field tested by some of our local riders, washed and used repeatedly. No major issues have been reported.
These shirts are scheduled for a February delivery—just in time for show season.

Other Devon-Aire updates:
  • The kids wrap collar shirt will now be offered in sizes 4 and 18.
  • Kidzammo helmets are available now in new patterns:

Are You Offering What Your Customers Want?

There have been several threads on the Chronicle of The Horse regarding new helmet technology.
A search on their forum produces multiple posts about the Matrix helmet.
Here is one post:

Cone head technology helmet is used in the Matrix Helmet by Devon Aire, in the USA, Dover saddler etc. carries it. $139 I am thinking of getting one.

Amazing that all the bigger more expensive brands are not incorporating it, I read Devon Aire has exclusive rights to the Cone head tech for riding helmets but how could such a thing be possible? Are the other companies just cheap and figuring they'll keep selling their lines without it as long as they can?

The MIPS sounds terrific. Hope some of the equestrian companies will introduce it instead of getting by with old models year after year only changing the design.

People are excited about the new technology, as well as the price point. (By the way, Devon-Aire has dropped the price by $20 on the Matrix and it now retails for $99.99!)

Your customer is one who researches what is out there! They want this new technology. So....are you offering what you customer wants?

The new Prism, offering the same "cone head" technology as the Matrix. Retails for $99.95. Place orders now, delivery in spring! From the Chronicle forums:
"Will definitely check out the DevonAire Prism in the spring. Equestrian helmet manufacturers need to match other sports in the latest safety technology, there's too much succumbing to trends."

The Matrix, our first helmet with the "Cone head" technology.

I attended Equine Affaire in Massachusetts last month, on behalf of Hilton Herbs. It was my first time in attendance, I got to have breakfast with a dear friend who lives nearby and since I had a day to kill before my departing flight, I drove up to Amherst and visited my husband's alma mater, U Mass. He was thrilled at the photo's I took of the engineering school, where he spent many hours. I also visited the downtown and took photos of Emily Dickinson's lovely home! I was also grateful for the cold weather, a welcome treat!

VireX Cream:

Excellent in use for horses with sarcoids. Containing astringent witch hazel, Calendula oil, and Thuja tincture, held in a soothing Calendula cream base. This topical is great for supporting the skin's natural immune response.

We treated a horse in my barn who's owner has been battling sarcoids for years:

The response was pretty dramatic and within a few weeks, the sarcoids were diminishing in size. The vet eventually was able to tie off several of the bigger ones and they fell off.
For best effective treatment, it is suggested that the horse also be fed Echinacea Plus, which will assist the horse's immune system from internally. Sarcoids have pretty deep and extensive root systems and they need to be attacked from both external and internal points.
